| What is ncyt?
|
| ncyt is a statewide community of young people
working and volunteering in North Carolinas nonprofit sector.
ncyts mission is to encourage and mobilize
the resources of young nonprofit professionals and those interested
in promoting the active involvement of young people in the nonprofit
sector |
| ncyt believes in the power of nonprofits to transform
lives and communities and to make democracy work. But ncyt believes
that organizations can do these things better by equipping young people
with management and leadership skills; helping them build strong networks
with other nonprofit professionals; encouraging them to build careers
in the nonprofit sector; and helping them find ways to sustain themselves
in their nonprofit work |
| ncyt envisions a nonprofit sector that is committed
to the continuous training and development of young leaders; encourages
intergenerational partnerships and mentorships; is independent and
sustainable; and reflects the demographics of the communities in which
it works. |
| ncyt is a self-sustaining membership organization. |
| ncyt does not provide a definition for "young."
Rather, members define if they are young. While most members are in
their 20s, ncyt has members as young as 16 and as young as 60. |
| ncyts goals: |
- Networking: To provide structure for young nonprofit
professionals and volunteers to collaborate, network and share.
- Professional/Personal Development: To provide opportunities
and resources to individuals and organizations that will further
the professional and personal development of young people working
and volunteering in nonprofits.
- Advocacy: To advocate for the interests and needs of
young nonprofit professionals and volunteers.
